Position Summary
The Professional Women’s Hockey League is seeking an experienced and passionate Manager of Video Production for PWHL Vancouver. The Manager of Video Production will be responsible for creating compelling visual content that showcases PWHL Vancouver’s brand and athletes through video storytelling across all channels. From ideation to delivery, this role will lead the production process, bringing complex ideas to life through captivating storytelling. This role will require a keen visual eye, technical expertise, and the ability to work efficiently and create high-volume video content under tight deadlines. The Manager of Video Production will report to the Director of Team Business Operations and will also work closely with the league’s Director, Video and Production as well as the Brand and Marketing team to drive storytelling and engaging content that aligns with the PWHL’s brand and achieves team business objectives.

The Manager of Video Production will report to the Director of Team Business Operations and will also work closely with the league’s Director, Video and Production as well as the Brand and Marketing team to drive storytelling and engaging content that aligns with the PWHL’s brand and achieves team business objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Ideate, produce, shoot, edit and deliver video content including, but not limited to, features, highlight packages, interviews, promotions, advertisements and other on-demand content optimized for social media, broadcast, website, app, and in-stadium platforms.
- Work closely with the game presentation and brand team to create compelling video content that drives the in-venue fan experience and elevates brand storytelling.
- Produce unique and compelling video content for team and league partners, adhering to partner messaging and objectives, to create value for the partner, team and league.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate video content into broader marketing initiatives and campaigns, including promotion for ticket offers, Unity and theme nights, key games, tentpole events, etc.
- Attend games, practices and trainings, community appearances, and other events as needed.
- Shoot/edit game content and highlights on-site during all home and away games and at events as needed. Cover all post-game press conferences.
- Lead on-site shoots as needed, including scheduling, location scouting, production and post-production.
- Produce video content that engages fans and attracts new viewers, reflects the brand, and adheres to all brand standards.
- Utilize a variety of storytelling techniques and skills to create engaging visual narratives that resonate with audiences.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in video production and storytelling, and apply relevant insights to enhance our creative processes.
- Assist in media day execution.
- Design and create motion graphics for use in video features, if necessary, from time to time.
- Provide sound design and color correction for all work.
- Manage the logging and archiving of video content for the team.
- Assists with other duties and ad hoc projects as assigned.
Qualification Requirements
- 2-5 years of experience in video production, with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in producing, shooting, and editing compelling visual content.
- Minimum of 2 years of shoot and editing experience on both short-form and long-form sports-related projects for digital platforms – Required.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite – Required.
- Must have a strong grasp of the latest non-linear video editing techniques and visual trends, and how those apply to social and digital platforms.
- Thorough understanding of and ability to use basic video production equipment.
- Proficiency in motion graphics a plus.
- Experience with 3D modeling and animation a plus.
- Must be proficient with computers and MS Office programs.
- Must be able to work all home games, as well as frequent practices, training, events, and other activities in the local area.
- Must be available to work team training camp beginning in Mid-November.
- Ability to travel with the team for all away games.

- Demonstrate technical expertise in cameras, lighting, and audio equipment, ensuring high-quality production values in all video content.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
- Experience working in a team environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
- Passion for sports and a deep understanding of sports culture and fan engagement.
- Ability to complete job responsibilities with primarily personal equipment.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate well with management-level peers as well as employees in other groups across the organization.
- Highly motivated to continuously learn and improve department processes.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work long, irregular hours and weekends as dictated by event schedules and project timetables.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Compensation Range: $71,791 - $91,371 CAD
