Job summary

Fidelity Canada seeks a Team Manager, Accounts Transfers to lead a functional operations team at our Toronto location, managing day-to-day processing, compliance, risk, and workforce growth.

You will monitor workflow, coach staff, and partner with senior management to enhance processes while ensuring SLAs and client satisfaction in a flexible hybrid setup.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in financial services or 3–4 years in operations or customer service within brokerage/financial services.
  • Experience coaching, training, mentoring, and leading people (asset).
  • University degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Completion of Canadian Securities Course (asset).
  • Bilingual in French (asset).

Responsibilities

  • Operations management.
  • Daily review of departmental activities.
  • Oversee and assess daily workload to ensure policies, client needs are exceeded and risk is mitigated.
  • Provide functional area expertise, oversight, training, analysis, and reporting across group responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with Account Transfer Manager on special planning and projects.
  • Oversee business practices in Account Transfers and improve them when necessary.
  • Compliance and risk management: develop procedures strengthening regulatory and risk controls.
  • Participate in audits; identify issues and risks and resolve or escalate.
  • People management: coach and provide feedback to meet objectives and ensure policy understanding.
  • Collaborate with other Operations Team Managers and senior management to resolve problems and improve processes.

Job Description

Team Manager, Accounts Transfers at Fidelity Clearing Canada (FCC) will manage a functional team of operations employees, overseeing day‑to‑day processing, compliance, risk, and workforce development while ensuring service level objectives are met.

Work schedule: flexible hybrid in‑office. Current work location is 483 Bay Street, Toronto until late 2026, after which it will change to 3 Robert Speck Parkway, Mississauga.

What You Will Do
  • Operations management.
  • Daily review of departmental activities.
  • Oversee and assess the daily workload of the operations team to ensure policies and procedures are adhered to, client needs are exceeded, and risk to FCC or its clients is mitigated.
  • Provide functional area expertise, oversight, problem resolution, training, analysis, and reporting as required across a variety of group responsibilities.
  • Work closely with the Account Transfer Manager on other special planning and departmental projects.
  • Oversee business practices in Account Transfers and improve them when necessary.
  • Compliance and risk management: develop and maintain supervisory procedures that strengthen regulatory and risk controls for the assigned team.
  • Participate in internal and external audit engagements; identify issues and risks (financial and regulatory) and resolve or escale appropriately.
  • People management: provide regular coaching and feedback to help employees meet business objectives and enhance performance; ensure employees understand policies, procedures, and values; ensure training and tools are available; provide input into business and resource planning; play project lead role in corporate and divisional initiatives, including client onboarding; ensure a positive client experience.
  • Working relationships: collaborate with other Operations Team Managers and senior management to resolve problems, enhance processes, and seek efficient transaction processing; collaborate with external partners such as 3rd‑party vendors and custodians to communicate and resolve issues; seek continuous improvement opportunities.

  • Effective management skills, including ability to motivate people.
  • Proven experience in building and managing relationships with customers and teams.
  • Contributed to divisional and departmental initiatives, achieving project success.
  • Ability to learn and teach on systems and products quickly and gain understanding of FCC’s offerings.
What We Are Looking For
  • 3+ years in financial services or 3–4 years progressive experience in operations or customer service within the brokerage or financial services industry.
  • Experience coaching, training, mentoring, and leading people (asset).
  • University degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Completion of Canadian Securities Course (asset).
  • Bilingual in French (asset).
Total Rewards
  • Base Salary and discretionary performance bonus: competitive annual range of $70,000 to $100,000, based on experience and qualifications.
  • RRSP contribution after 6 months of employment; no employee matching required.
