Job summary

Ryder is seeking a Warehouse Team Leader in Vaughan, ON to supervise daily warehouse activities, including loading, picking, packing, shipping and forklift operations. The role requires strong leadership, safety focus, and experience with RF scanning; bilingual skills help in certain locations.

The incumbent will direct a team to meet customer requirements, manage resources, and drive KPI improvements while maintaining health and safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum 1 year powered industrial truck experience preferred.
• 1 year or more as Team Lead preferred.
• RF scanner experience required.
• Valid forklift operator's license certified.

Responsibilities

• Lead and improve warehouse operations for efficiency.
• Perform warehouse tasks: loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, cycle counting.
• Allocate resources and assign daily work to team.
• Guide team toward KPI improvement.
• Provide orientation and safety training for employees.
• Handle daily warehouse paperwork and reporting.
• Submit daily reports and propose action plans for improvements.

About the Job

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Wage: $23.00/hour + $2.00/hour Team Lead premium + $1.00/hour forklift premium

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 5:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Location: Vaughan, ON

Required Certification: Candidates must have valid forklift certification, including Reach Truck and Order Picker.

Summary

Under the responsibility of the Logistics Supervisor, the Warehouse Team Leader assists in ensuring customer requirements are performed effectively and efficiently. The incumbent provides guidance and instruction to the members of a team for the purpose of achieving a key result. The incumbent also performs warehouse functions, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and, cycle counting.

Essential Functions

• Lead and ensure continuous improvement efforts for optimal efficiency of the operations.
• Perform warehouse function, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and, cycle counting.
• Allocate resources and organize and distribute daily work duties to members to ensure optimal shift/team operational logistics.
• Inspire and guide team members towards improved Key Performance Indicator (KPI’s) using the appropriate leadership styles and methods.
• Assist in proving appropriate orientation for employees and give them the necessary information, technology and tools to perform their jobs.
• Assist with promoting health and safety working methods within the warehouse.
• Deal with day to day paperwork in a warehouse environment (i.e. picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.).
• Complete and submit daily reports and propose action plans to enhance operations effectiveness and service levels.
