The Team Leader, UX Research, is responsible for leading, coaching, and growing a team of UX professionals focused on user research and analysis for our digital assets. This includes guiding employees in both day-to-day operations as well as long-term performance and career planning. As a key member of the UX leadership team, the Team Leader will help shape the organization's UX practice by establishing standards, optimizing operations, and evolving UX research as a discipline within Medavie. The role also involves hands-on research and analysis as needed to support execution.

This role is situated within the Digital Transformation Office, established to enable focused execution of Medavie's digital strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing day-to-day UX research guidance to team members, including task assignment, review, and advising on methods and best practices.
  • Supporting employee development through performance management, coaching, and career development.
  • Enhancing team impact by assessing responsibilities, identifying skill gaps, scaling the team, and leading recruitment.
  • Fostering a positive employee experience by collecting feedback, encouraging engagement, and promoting a sense of purpose.
  • Managing team efforts to meet goals, including responding to business needs, planning, assigning tasks, and evaluating success.
  • Contributing hands-on to research efforts, such as conducting interviews, setting up tests, analyzing results, etc.
  • Establishing UX research standards, optimizing workflows, and leading the UX Research Community of Practice within Medavie.
  • Raising awareness of UX research value across the organization by building relationships, participating in workshops, and sharing data on research success.

Required Qualifications

Education : University degree in a related field.

Work Experience : 5+ years as a UX research professional with proven leadership capabilities.

Other Qualifications :

  • Deep understanding of UX research methods.
  • Experience with resource planning and project scheduling.
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for negotiation, conflict resolution, and professional communication.
  • Passionate about UX, design, technology, and innovation.

Language Skills : Fluency in English is essential; working knowledge of French is an asset.
