Qualifications

  • Experience in supervision is required.
  • Aircraft Mechanic (GTE or equivalent) can also qualify.

Team Leader Production Code : MMT / 23270 Salary : $100,000.00 - $115,000.00

The Team Leader is responsible for the daily coordinating, monitoring, and supervising of employees within the department to achieve the goals and targets. Typical duties and responsibilities include ensuring that timelines are met, optimized use of all resources, and liaising with other departments.

Your Tasks :

  • Coordinate, coach, monitor, supervise and direct employees on a daily basis to achieve goals and targets in meeting customer expectations
  • Ensure audit awareness and compliance is maintained to the appropriate aviation and MTU standards including the necessary calibration documentation
  • Monitor work hours of designated employees and approve exception logs
  • Conduct Performance Assessments for assigned employees and identify requirement(s) for individual development
  • Participate in the recruitment process for new employees
  • Ensure costs within the budget (for assigned area and projects)
  • Responsible for special projects in order to ensure a continuous improvement of the shop
  • Conduct daily crew meeting with all team members
  • Participate in Team Leader meetings in order to discuss / solve inter-departmental issues and to drive internal and external projects actively
  • Provide leadership to proactively support the operational process by ensuring sufficient resource allocation and availability for daily task assignment to meet defined schedule
  • Responsible to identify turn time risks. Must have full transparency over all customers’ engine parts and possess the ability to provide proactive solutions to avoid potential delays and penalties
  • Communicate and co-ordinate the interests of MTU through effective meetings and organizational issues
  • Monitor and coordinate on-the-job training to ensure multi-tasking ability
  • Responsible for providing after-hours service as required
  • Responsible for process improvement initiatives within the team on an ongoing basis, and facilitate team building through department roles and responsibilities, and other activities
  • Ensure health and safety environment is maintained in accordance to MTU-C and WorksafeBC guidelines
  • Audit and monitor the condition of all tooling and equipment, and coordinate repairs / maintenance with other departments
  • Other projects and duties as required

Our Requirements :

  • Completion of a college or university program in Engineering or in a discipline related to engineering operation and maintenance and 3-4 years experience, in production or maintenance environment and experience in supervision
  • or Aircraft Mechanic (GTE or equivalent) and >
  • 6 years experience, in production or maintenance environment and experience in supervision

  • Leadership experience is mandatory
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Operation Systems
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office
  • Intermediate knowledge of SAP Production / Accessory / Logistics functions / transaction
