Job description

Lake Country Co-op invites applications for the position of Full Time Team Leader at our C-Store/Gas Bar location in La Ronge, Saskatchewan. If you are looking to use your leadership skills to take La Ronge Gas Bar to the next level, then Lake Country Co-op is looking for you.

What you’ll do:

1. Demonstrate the behaviors and actions to support Lake Country Co-operative’s vision, mission, values, and safety principles to make a difference in members lives, with a strong customer focused approach.
2. Provide Legendary Service at all touch points through various communication channels.
3. Lead a culture of safety and maximize operational efficiency.
4. Effectively manage the development and direction of the reporting team members.
5. Oversee the sales, margins, expenses, inventory, and sales for the department.
6. Provide training to gas bar clerks for all store duties and for opening and closing procedures.
7. Be familiar with and adhere to Lake Country Co-op policies such as selling of age restricted items and all government regulations relating to tobacco and lottery.
8. Complete all necessary daily reports as required including daily cash up and reconciliations.
9. Support and follow the Asset Protection and Safety Management systems, policies, procedures and train gas bar clerks accordingly.
10. Ensure the department is displaying, stocking, and rotating merchandise as per company policy and standard with a focus on maintaining image and brand standards.
11. Perform minor repairs to assets as required.
12. Complete other duties as required.

Reporting to the Community Operations Advisor, you will be a key participant in initiating, developing, and executing plans and policies to ensure continued growth in sales, service, and customer satisfaction. You will help lead a fun and passionate team to cultivate a culture of collaboration.

Who you are:
You are looking for a career in Customer Service and:

1. You have completed grade 12 or have a combination of relevant experience; 3+ years of retail sales experience in a supervisory role, especially in the Co-operative Retailing System (CRS) is preferred.
2. You have strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to successfully motivate and work with team members.
3. You’re honest and trustworthy, are results-orientated, and strive to be the best in what you do.
4. You have experience with C-Store/Gas Bar operations and general merchandise items.
5. You’re attentive to detail and have strong cash management skills.
6. Must be willing to obtain propane dispenser & WHMIS certifications.
7. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, are an effective planner, and have superb time management skills.
8. You have Point of Sale experience and have the ability to work in a fast paced, guest facing environment.
9. You are available for day travel within the Lake Country Co-op trading area to attend seminars, meetings, training programs and other events.
10. You must be able to plan and organize your own work and that of others, supervise others, and delegate to others.
11. You have a valid Class 5 license and must have reliable vehicle for daily trips from Air Ronge to La Ronge; you will be reimbursed by Lake Country Co-op for business related expenses.
12. You have the ability to fulfill the physical job requirements – Manual labour is required.
13. You have a flexible work schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
