Job summary

Napoleon is seeking a Team Leader to support our manufacturing operations at 214 Bayview Drive. The role focuses on training, leadership development and Lean practices to drive production efficiency and safety. This is a temporary classification preparing for a permanent leadership position, with evening shifts from 2:45 p.m.

to 10:45 p.m. You will collaborate with supervisors and staff to remove roadblocks and mentor teammates.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Post-secondary education is considered an asset.
• Must be able to learn and use Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Must demonstrate leadership ability and the capacity to teach others.

Responsibilities

• Job shadow Team Leaders; Observe and assist in problem solving departmental issues and implement solutions.
• Observe and assist leadership in removing road blocks to production.
• Study to understand and comply with company policies, ISO, OHSA and ESA.
• Attend training sessions as required.
• Apply LEAN principles, including 5S methodology.
• Learn and use HRIS to track attendance, overtime, absences.

Title: Team Leader

Reports to: Manufacturing Supervisor or Manager

Location: 214 Bayview Drive

Hours: 2:45p.m. to 10:45p.m

Job Purpose

To train and develop leadership skills and specific skills required in the performance of a Team Leader in a manufacturing or logistics role. This is a temporary classification for Associates preparing for a role as Team Leader.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Job shadow Team Leaders; Observe and assist in problem solving departmental issues and then implementing the appropriate solution
• Observe and assist the Manufacturing leadership in eliminating road blocks to production
• Study to understand and comply with company policies and procedures, ISO and all Government legislation including the Human Rights Code, OHSA and ESA.
• Attend training sessions as required.
• Understand and apply LEAN principles, including 5S Methodology.
• Learn and use HRIS to track attendance, (O/T, absence, time offs).

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma, OR 4 - 5 years' relevant work experience with minimum literacy in English and Math confirmed
• Post-secondary education is considered an asset.
• Minimum 4 years' experience in a manufacturing environment
• Preference given to candidates with previous leadership experience
• Willing and able to learn to learn computer programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook, as well as Visual Manufacturing or another type of MRP system
• Must have a willingness to learn new skills and methods.
• Must be able to demonstrate that they have the ability to lead a team.
• Must show that they have the ability to teach others
