Job summary

Napoleon seeks a Team Leader to train and develop leadership skills for a manufacturing or logistics setting. This temporary classification prepares Associates for a Team Leader role in a dynamic production environment.

Shadow and learn from current Leaders while applying LEAN and 5S methodologies, and using HRIS to manage attendance and timekeeping. Strong English literacy and willingness to learn are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education is an asset.
• 4+ years in a manufacturing environment; leadership experience preferred.
• Willing to learn Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and MRP software.

Responsibilities

• Shadow Team Leaders; observe and assist in problem solving and implement solutions.
• Support leadership to remove production roadblocks and improve efficiency.
• Study and comply with policies, ISO, OHSA, ESA and government regulations.
• Attend training sessions and apply LEAN principles including 5S.
• Learn and use HRIS to track attendance, overtime, absences.

Title: Team Leader

Reports to: Manufacturing Supervisor or Manager

Location: 214 Bayview Drive

Hours: 2:45p.m. to 10:45p.m

Job Purpose

To train and develop leadership skills and specific skills required in the performance of a Team Leader in a manufacturing or logistics role. This is a temporary classification for Associates preparing for a role as Team Leader.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• Job shadow Team Leaders; Observe and assist in problem solving departmental issues and then implementing the appropriate solution
• Observe and assist the Manufacturing leadership in eliminating road blocks to production
• Study to understand and comply with company policies and procedures, ISO and all Government legislation including the Human Rights Code, OHSA and ESA.
• Attend training sessions as required.
• Understand and apply LEAN principles, including 5S Methodology.
• Learn and use HRIS to track attendance, (O/T, absence, time offs).

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma, OR 4 - 5 years' relevant work experience with minimum literacy in English and Math confirmed
• Post-secondary education is considered an asset.
• Minimum 4 years' experience in a manufacturing environment
• Preference given to candidates with previous leadership experience
• Willing and able to learn to learn computer programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook, as well as Visual Manufacturing or another type of MRP system
• Must have a willingness to learn new skills and methods.
• Must be able to demonstrate that they have the ability to lead a team.
• Must show that they have the ability to teach others
