Title: Team Leader

Reports to: Manufacturing Supervisor or Manager

Shift Hours: 2:45 p.m. to 11:15 p.m.

Location: 214 Bayview Drive, Barrie

Job Purpose: To train and develop leadership skills and specific skills required in the performance of a Team Leader in a manufacturing or logistics role. This is a temporary classification for Associates preparing for a role as Team Leader.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
  • Job shadow Team Leaders; Observe and assist in problem solving departmental issues and then implementing the appropriate solution
  • Observe and assist the Manufacturing leadership in eliminating road blocks to production
  • Study to understand and comply with company policies and procedures, ISO and all Government legislation including the Human Rights Code, OHSA and ESA.
  • Attend training sessions as required.
  • Understand and apply LEAN principles, including 5S Methodology.
  • Learn and use HRIS to track attendance, (O/T, absence, time offs).
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma, OR 4 - 5 years\' relevant work experience with minimum literacy in English and Math confirmed
  • Post-secondary education is considered an asset
  • Minimum 4 years\' experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Preference given to candidates with previous leadership experience
  • Willing and able to learn to learn computer programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook, as well as Visual Manufacturing or another type of MRP system
  • Must have a willingness to learn new skills and methods
  • Must be able to demonstrate that they have the ability to lead a team
  • Must show that they have the ability to teach others
