Job description

Description

Responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse and logistics functions. Works closely with Supply Chain, Material Management, and Production departments to ensure the efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of goods. The role is responsible for managing warehouse staff, optimizing workflow, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining accurate inventory records.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervision and Leadership:

  • Lead and manage warehouse personnel, including task assignment, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Create work schedules to ensure proper staffing levels to meet demand and optimize productivity.
  • Maintain a positive and productive working environment, promoting teamwork and employee morale.
  • Serve as the SME in all ERP applications related to Logistics, Warehouse, and Material Movement functions. Assist Production Support and Planning in ensuring data accuracy in the ERP system. Perform system testing and participate in problem-solving to maintain data integrity.

Warehouse Operations:

  • Oversee receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping operations to meet material standards. Collaborate with Materials Group and Production to set up and maintain proper Shop Floor and Kanban locations. Participate in the maintenance and assignment of shop floor locations.
  • Coordinate with Planning and Production to ensure smooth flow of material requirements to the production floor. Ensure the safe and efficient operation of warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
  • Maintain certifications and licensing for warehouse floaters and equipment.
  • Ensure proper labeling and organization of goods to streamline order fulfillment.
  • Work closely with Material Management to facilitate cycle counting and stock verification processes.
  • Oversee inbound CRO process and storage of COGs.
  • Assist in Capex and purchasing plans related to departmental materials and workflow improvements.
  • Oversee all "Pack" operations for production, including customer deliveries, material returns, and equipment movements.

Logistics Management:

  • Coordinate material and equipment expediting with suppliers, distributors, and transportation companies to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
  • Supervise truck loading and unloading, ensuring proper documentation and inspection of shipments.

Health and Safety Compliance:

  • Enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Conduct safety audits and ensure compliance with OHS-NS standards.
  • Investigate accidents and implement corrective actions as needed.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and all shipping and receiving documentation.
  • Generate reports on warehouse and logistics activities.
  • Analyze data to identify inefficiencies or areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience (2+ years) in warehouse operations, logistics, or related supervisory roles.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and workflows.
  • Solid understanding of inventory management and order fulfillment processes.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Support and promote safe work practices.
  • Enthusiasm for our products and a willingness to learn and participate in Continuous Improvement teams.

Post-secondary education or equivalent and 2+ years of related experience are required.
