The Warehouse and Logistics Team Lead reports to the Senior Manager, Materials and is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse and logistics functions. Works closely with Supply Chain, Material Management and Production departments ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of goods. The roll is responsible to manage warehouse staff, optimizing workflow, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining accurate inventory records.

Responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse and logistics functions. Works closely with Supply Chain, Material Management and Production departments ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of goods. The roll is responsible to manage warehouse staff, optimizing workflow, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining accurate inventory records.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervision and Leadership:

  • Lead and manage warehouse personnel, including assigning tasks, providing training, and ensuring proper performance evaluations.
  • Create work schedules, ensuring proper staffing levels to meet demand and optimize productivity.
  • Maintain a positive and productive working environment, promoting teamwork and employee morale.
  • Is the SME in all ERP applications related to Logistics, Warehouse and Material Movement functions. Assists Production Support and Planning in the accuracy of information in the ERP system. Perform system testing and participate in problem solving to ensure data integrity

Warehouse Operations:

  • Oversee receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping operations to ensure they meet material standards. Works with Materials Group and Production to set up and clearly identify and maintain proper Shop Floor and Kanban locations. Participates in the maintenance and assignment of shop floor locations.
  • Oversees the coordination with Planning and Production, the flow of material requirements to the production floor. Ensure the safe and efficient operation of warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
  • Maintain certifications and licensing for Warehouse floaters and equipment.
  • Ensure the proper labeling and organization of goods to streamline order fulfillment.
  • Work closely with Material Management to facilitate cycle counting and stock verification processes.
  • Oversight and ownership of the inbound CRO process and storage of COG’s.
  • Assist in Capex and purchasing plans in relation to departmental material and workflow improvements.
  • Integrate and oversee all “Pack” operations for production, including customer deliverables, material returns and equipment movements.

Logistics Management:

  • Oversee the coordination of material and equipment expediting with suppliers, distributors, and transportation companies to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
  • Supervise the loading and unloading of trucks, ensuring proper documentation and inspection of incoming and outgoing shipments.

Health and Safety Compliance:

  • Enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and ensure compliance with OHS-NS.
  • Investigate and report accidents and implement corrective actions when necessary.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Ensure the maintenance and accuracy of inventory records as well as all shipping and receiving transactions and documents.
  • Generate required reporting on warehouse and logistics activities.
  • Analyze logistics and warehouse data to identify inefficiencies or areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience (2+ years) in warehouse operations, logistics, or related roles, in a supervisory capacity.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Balance changing priorities and demanding work flow.
  • Solid understanding of inventory management and order fulfillment processes.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards in a warehouse setting.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to adapt and deliver in a past paced and constantly changing environment.

Post Secondary Education or equivalent and 2+ years of related experience.
