The Warehouse and Logistics Team Lead reports to the Senior Manager of Materials and is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse and logistics operations. This role works closely with Supply Chain, Material Management, and Production departments to ensure efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of goods. The incumbent manages warehouse staff, optimizes workflows, ensures safety compliance, and maintains accurate inventory records.

Nationality Requirements

Candidates must be eligible to obtain the relevant security clearance required for the role, due to the nature of the programmes delivered for our customers.

Job Description

Responsible for overseeing daily warehouse and logistics operations. Collaborates with Supply Chain and Production to ensure efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of goods. Manages warehouse staff, optimizes workflows, ensures safety, and maintains accurate inventory records.

Key Responsibilities

Supervision and Leadership:

  • Lead and manage warehouse personnel, including task assignment, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Create work schedules to ensure proper staffing levels, meeting demand and optimizing productivity.
  • Maintain a positive work environment, promoting teamwork and morale.
  • Serve as SME in all ERP applications related to Logistics, Warehouse, and Material Movement functions. Assist in system testing, problem-solving, and ensuring data integrity.

Warehouse Operations:

  • Oversee receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping operations, ensuring standards are met.
  • Coordinate with Materials Group and Production to maintain proper locations and flow of materials.
  • Ensure safe operation of warehouse equipment and maintain certifications.
  • Label and organize goods for streamlined order fulfillment.
  • Facilitate cycle counting and stock verification with Material Management.
  • Manage inbound CRO process and storage of COGs.
  • Assist in Capex and procurement planning for departmental improvements.
  • Oversee all packing operations related to production, customer deliveries, and equipment movements.

Logistics Management:

  • Coordinate material and equipment expediting with suppliers and transportation providers.
  • Supervise loading/unloading, ensuring proper documentation and inspections.

Health and Safety Compliance:

  • Enforce safety protocols and conduct audits to ensure compliance with OHS-NS standards.
  • Investigate accidents and implement corrective actions.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate inventory and transaction records.
  • Generate reports and analyze data to identify improvements.

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or related supervisory roles.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Knowledge of inventory management, safety regulations, and ERP/MRP software.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent, with related experience.
