Team Lead, Software Engineer (fullstack) Role

Join our Data Preparation and Insights team as a Team Lead and become part of a dynamic and innovative team that is shaping the future direction of our company. We're on the lookout for a talented full stack developer and communicator to standardize coding best practices, lead a team of energetic full stack developers in designing, planning, and coding best in class features on the Qlik platform. You’ll be working with developers from Ottawa and the east coast region delivering analytics and data integration features using React, Node.js, Java and other languages in a Kubernetes environment at scale.

As part of our team you will:

1. Participate in full lifecycle of feature development from designs to architecture, development planning, execution, testing and delivery.
2. Lead a team of developers in planning and execution.
3. Run daily standups with developers.
4. Meet regularly with leadership and stakeholders providing status updates.
5. Build innovative User Interfaces using modern client technologies.
6. Provide mentorship to junior developers, leading by example, evangelizing best coding practices, providing code reviews.
7. Familiar with analysis, design, and implementation of public RESTful APIs, and application components.
8. Work across teams to deliver reusable components and services with performance and scalability in mind.

We’re looking for a teammate with:

1. Educated in Computer Science, Software Engineering or with a scientific background.
2. Have a working experience of at least 10 years in software development.
3. Excellent communication and proven teamwork experience.
4. Experience closely collaborating with design teams, R&D, Product Management and other parts of the organization.
5. Extensive experience with modern JS frameworks e.g. React, Svelte etc.
6. Strong understanding of client technologies such as HTML5, CSS and the latest versions of JavaScript.
7. An obsession with testing, testability, and code quality.
8. Deep knowledge of established design patterns.
9. Cloud infrastructure: Docker container engines, Kubernetes, and related tools like Grafana, Splunk/Dynatrace.

1. Collaborative Partnership: Partner effectively with colleagues in Development, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and Product Management throughout the software development life cycle, contributing to the analysis, design, and implementation of service improvements.
2. Performance and Quality Standards: Set the bar for performance, reliability, and quality standards within the team, ensuring that our features and services meet the highest standards of excellence.
3. Software Development: Design, implement, test, troubleshoot, and debug software, actively participating in development strategy definition and implementation alongside your colleagues.

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $150,000 - $170,000 CAD per year. Final compensation offered by Qlik will be based on factors such as the candidate’s location, job-related skills, education, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
