Job summary

Irving Shipbuilding seeks a Team Lead for Production Engineering - NC Data to lead a team delivering critical manufacturing data powering automated steel fabrication for shipbuilding and repair programs.

You will own NC data quality, drive improvements, and coordinate with design agents, software providers, and equipment vendors to ensure safe, efficient operations. Full-time in-office position with CGP/ITAR considerations.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or technologist diploma required.
• 8+ years of shipbuilding, ship design, or related heavy manufacturing experience.
• Strong knowledge of production methods, planning processes, material flow, and manufacturing constraints.
• Experience with NC data development, validation, and configuration control for automated fabrication.
• Ability to work with large datasets from CAD/PLM, PBOM, nesting, NC programming, and ERP systems.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
• Experience with Messer, HGG Profile Cutting Machine, MicroStep, and SMWP equipment is a plus.

• Collaborate with Design Agents, software providers, and equipment vendors to resolve technical issues.
• Support testing and validation of new equipment, software, and manufacturing processes.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a Team Lead, Production Engineering - NC Data to lead a team responsible for the manufacturing data that powers automated steel fabrication across shipbuilding and repair programs.

Acting as the functional owner of NC data, you will ensure the accuracy, quality, and timely delivery of information used by cutting, marking, beveling, and welding equipment.

Working closely with Production, Planning, Engineering, and Design Agents, you will provide technical leadership, resolve complex data and manufacturing challenges, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that support safe, efficient, and reliable operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead, mentor, and coordinate the NC Data team.

Due to the nature of work Irving Shipbuilding does, all successful applicants must meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
