Job summary

J.D. Irving, Limited (JDI) is seeking a Team Lead, Field Service Engineering to guide a team of engineers and technologists supporting shipyard production.

You will liaise between Engineering and Production, coordinate support activities, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced shipbuilding environment. Qualifications include a engineering degree or related diploma, 5+ years in shipbuilding/manufacturing, and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Diploma in Engineering Technology in a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in shipbuilding, manufacturing, construction, or another complex industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of engineering design, production processes, planning, and materials management.
• Ability to interpret production drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), 3D models, and technical data.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.

• Represent the Field Service Engineering team in discipline-specific meetings.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As the Team Lead, Field Service Engineering, you will lead a team of engineers and technologists responsible for supporting shipyard production within a specific engineering discipline. Acting as the primary liaison between Engineering and Production, you will help ensure technical issues are resolved efficiently and that production teams have the information they need to succeed.

Working closely with Production, Planning, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams, you will coordinate engineering support activities, lead technical problem solving, and drive continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced shipbuilding environment.

Due to the nature of work Irving Shipbuilding does, all successful applicants must meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Please note this position requires a full-time, in-office presence.
