Our product, the Globe Pulsed Field System, has unique, customer-valued differentiators and is supported by key opinion leaders actively using it. Kardium offers a unique opportunity for an experienced Team Lead – Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering to manage product design transfer, collaborate on root cause analysis, and optimize manufacturing processes, especially for single-use products. This role is based in Burnaby, BC, with a hybrid work arrangement.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Manage design transfer, identify manufacturing challenges, and develop solutions.
• Drive manufacturing engineering strategy in collaboration with management to meet corporate goals.
• Lead cross-functional teams to investigate and resolve manufacturing challenges.
• Collaborate to optimize manufacturing floor layout, line balancing, capacity, and throughput.
• Oversee the design, fabrication, and implementation of production equipment.
• Participate in product design-for-manufacture reviews.
• Maintain manufacturing documentation such as SOPs, Work Instructions, and process plans.
• Review PFMEA documentation and implement process risk mitigations.
• Establish KPIs to monitor team performance and change management processes.

What You Bring To The Team

We value creativity, collaboration, and a passion for medical innovation. Our ideal candidate has:

• An undergraduate degree in engineering or a related scientific field.
• At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering or continuous improvement, preferably in an ISO 13485 environment.
• Strong knowledge of statistical methods, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement.
• Proven project management skills in manufacturing improvements.
• Experience working with engineering, quality, supply chain, and QA teams.
• Knowledge of FDA cGMP regulations is a plus.
• Ability to mentor staff in manufacturing engineering and lean practices.
• Flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed.

Compensation

Salary range: $95,000 – 120,000 CAD annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
