What You’ll Do

1. Supervise, mentor, and coordinate a GIS team, managing daily tasks, priorities, staff development, and promoting best practices across forestry and operations teams.
2. Lead spatial modeling and GIS data management, ensuring data integrity, quality control, and compliance with government standards.
3. Integrate GPS, drone, and LiDAR data into planning workflows; support forest management plans and field operations through mapping, inventory, and custom GIS tools.
4. Maintain and enhance GIS platforms, automate workflows, create training materials, and drive innovation through new geospatial technologies.

What You Offer

• Degree or Diploma in GIS or Forestry
• 5 years of GIS experience in forestry or natural resource sector
• Knowledge of GIS, remote sensing, scripting (Python, Transact-SQL), relational databases (SQL Server), Spatial Forest Estate Models, drones, GPS, and field data tools
• Strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills; effective planner with excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building abilities
