Salary

The salary range for this position is CAD $45.46/Hr. - CAD $65.35/Hr.

Summary

Within the context of a patient, client and family-centred model of care and in accordance with the Mission, Vision, and Values, and strategic directions of Providence Health Care, this role promotes a safe, respectful, and civil working environment for patients, residents, families, visitors, and staff. Reporting to the Manager, Disability Management, the Team Lead is responsible for the leadership, development, and administration of the Disability Management Program across Providence Health Care (PHC) and its agencies, divisions, and services. The Team Lead mentors Disability Management Advisors and Coordinators in case management, and guides staff to achieve best practices for prevention and early intervention initiatives to improve health outcomes for employees and maintain optimal workplace function. The role also involves developing transitional work programs for ill and injured staff collaboratively with stakeholders, and providing education to managers, supervisors, and union stewards regarding Disability Management and the Early Intervention and Rehabilitation Program.

What You Bring

Qualifications, Education, Training, and Experience

  • University degree in related health sciences discipline.
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of recent experience in Disability Case and WCB Claim management within a unionized environment.
  • Experience in program development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Certification in Disability Management is preferred.

  • Thorough understanding of a complex multi-union healthcare environment to develop and implement strategies aligned with overall HR strategies.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Effective communication skills for developing business cases and promotional materials.

  • Computer literacy with relevant software and tools.
What We Offer

Role Responsibilities

  1. Mentor and provide expertise to Disability Management Advisors and Coordinators on complex cases and best practices.
  2. Support staff on escalated files, facilitating discussions and evaluating impacts and risks.
  3. Manage a small case load in addition to complex disability management cases.
  4. Liaise with insurance carriers and service providers to ensure best practices.
  5. Educate managers, supervisors, and union stewards on Disability Management and rehabilitation programs.
  6. Provide content expertise, coaching, and mentorship to staff.
  7. Build and maintain effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
  8. Coordinate and manage program aspects and projects, ensuring consistency and evaluating outcomes.
  9. Stay current on trends, issues, and best practices in Disability Management.
  10. Supervise staff, participate in hiring and performance reviews.
  11. Manage WSBC appeals, including submissions.
  12. Perform other duties as required.
