Responsibilities
  1. Conduct investigations to identify, assess, decide, and report activity indicating exposure to financial crimes, ensuring evaluations follow standard operating procedures.
  2. Provide subject matter expertise and oversight of criminal risk, following disciplined, intelligence-based detection and research aligned with frameworks and standards.
  3. Develop solutions and recommend actions based on understanding of business strategy and stakeholder needs.
  4. Advise and guide business groups on implementing solutions.
  5. Determine business priorities and optimal sequencing for strategy execution.
  6. Perform independent analysis to resolve strategic issues and support strategic initiatives.
  7. Build relationships with stakeholders, including law enforcement and other financial institutions, to facilitate investigations.
  8. Ensure stakeholder alignment and integrate information for efficient processes and reporting.
  9. Assess referred incidents/cases to determine appropriate actions and oversee report and case file preparation.
  10. Serve as a resource for resolving complex issues and communicating risk monitoring requirements.
  11. Coordinate and assign tasks, and support leadership activities such as onboarding, coaching, and performance reviews.
  12. Monitor detection systems and analyze information to evaluate and investigate activities.
  13. Support evidence collection for various purposes, including incident reports, litigation, and process improvements.
  14. Document actions and maintain case files, developing an understanding of financial crime management processes.
  15. Format data into reports and dashboards, analyze data, and provide insights and recommendations.
  16. Execute routine service tasks within SLAs and communicate incident information to stakeholders.
  17. Focus primarily on business/group within BMO, with potential enterprise-wide responsibilities.
  18. Exercise judgment in problem diagnosis and resolution, working independently on complex tasks.
Qualifications
  1. Typically 4-6 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree or equivalent.
  2. Experience in investigations or compliance is required.
  3. Knowledge of banking products, services, and processes is an asset.
  4. Proficiency in technical skills through education or experience.
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication, collaboration, analytical, problem-solving, and influence skills.
  6. Data-driven decision-making capabilities.
Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $54,500.00 - $101,500.00 (pay type: salaried). Salaries vary based on factors like location, skills, and experience, and may include commissions.
