Job summary

Intact FC is seeking a Team Lead, Actuarial to join our Operational Performance Analytics (OPA) team. You will lead a small team of 2–3 actuarial analysts, acting as both technical advisor and project lead to deliver insights that enhance underwriting operations.

The role reports to a manager and focuses on developing people, guiding analytics, and collaborating with stakeholders across Canada in a hybrid work environment. Requires actuarial expertise and leadership.

Qualifications

• University degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science or equivalent.
• FCAS or FCIA designation is an asset.
• 5+ years of experience, including 1 year coaching.
• Strong technical skills in actuarial techniques.
• Ability to lead with vision and strategic relationships.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills.
• Bilingualism in Quebec is considered.
• Eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

Salary range (but not limited to):

128,300 - 156,800

Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance):

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. About the role

We’re looking for a Team Lead, Actuarial to join our growing Operational Performance Analytics (OPA) team, where collaboration, creativity and high impact projects are at the heart of our mandate.

In this role, you will report to a manager and be responsible for leading a small team of 2–3 actuarial analysts, while serving as both technical and project lead.

About the team:

OPA is a national analytics team dedicated to delivering insights and analysis that support Intact Insurance in enhancing operational excellence, driving productivity, fostering growth and elevating service quality across underwriting teams.

What you’ll do here:

• Contribute to executing key team objectives by actively participating in hands‑on work, providing technical advice to team members and ensuring the quality of their work

• Formulate appropriate recommendations after analyzing and interpreting reports produced by actuarial analysts to improve the performance of underwriting operations.

• Manage the evaluation, development and coaching of your team members to achieve the company’s strategic objectives, while creating a highly engaged workforce, where employees contribute to the success of the team and company.

• Manage your team’s activities by organizing, planning and controlling the optimal use of human, financial and material resources according to company strategies and budget planning.

• Represent OPA in various working groups/committees and act as a point of contact with stakeholders.

What you bring to the table:

• University degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science or any combination of equivalent education and experience.

• Job‑specific designation: FCAS or FCIA an asset.

• Minimum of 5 years experience, including 1 year of coaching (major asset).

• Strong technical skills and knowledge of actuarial techniques.
