Job Description

As Team Lead, Accounting for Partnerships and Projects for the Dealer Services division, you will be a pillar within the team coordinating and facilitating accounting activities and financial analyses for our business partners. In addition, you will manage the accounting work required for the sector's projects. Under the supervision of the Dealer Services Accounting Director, you will use your technical skills, team spirit and leadership to ensure the team's success and contribute to the continuous improvement of our accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish strong relationships with key partners and other departments within Dealer Services.
  • Participate in meetings on new products/partnerships and coordinate necessary steps to develop accounting models and processes in collaboration with other teams.
  • Master and refine the understanding of the accounting processes for various products and partnership components within the team.
  • Collaborate with team members to find creative and innovative solutions to identified operational challenges and required manual processes.
  • Continuously review, improve and document accounting and internal control procedures, ensuring process mapping documentation is up to date.
  • Identify opportunities, document, and lead accounting process improvement projects for efficiency and quality gains. Advise and support the Director in achieving annual objectives related to these processes.
  • In collaboration with the Director, support team members in planning, prioritizing and coordinating accounting activities in line with the Team Leader's mandate.
  • Review and approve accounting entries and payments in a timely manner.
  • Oversee account reconciliations and increase visibility of variances to analyze and take timely corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with specialized teams to implement required actions resulting from tax and legal provisions and changes.
  • Carry out financial analysis and reports as requested by management.
  • Support the team for external audits and corporate team inquiries.
  • Implement action plans in response to external auditor recommendations.
  • Facilitate cross-training within the team for efficient collaboration.

Skills and Experience:

  • CPA with over 10 years of accounting experience.
  • Experience in insurance and reinsurance is a strong asset.
  • Experience in team management and/or collaboration with external partners.
  • Analytical skills, effective communication, curiosity, and resourcefulness.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and, while remaining organized and efficient under pressure, to deal with new initiatives.
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Windows Suite.
  • Experience with Oracle ERP and Hyperion (an asset).
