As a Team Lead (Consultant) at Kainos, you will be responsible for leading an agile team to deliver high-quality solutions that meet client and user needs. You will foster a positive and creative culture, creating a productive working environment. You will empower and support your team to perform well, learn, and grow in line with Kainos values. Your role involves removing blockers, managing risks and issues, and working closely with other Agile Team Leads and stakeholders to ensure your team works effectively under the guidance of a Delivery Manager. You may also take on broader management responsibilities and contribute to management capabilities.

The successful candidate will:

  1. Establish ways of working to enable an agile team to plan, forecast, and deliver against a product backlog.
  2. Act as a role model for collaborative behaviors, agile values, and professionalism.
  3. Lead retrospectives and continuous improvement initiatives, applying industry best practices in agile delivery.
  4. Manage, coach, and develop team members, focusing on performance management.
  5. Provide data, forecasts, and progress updates to inform planning.
  6. Facilitate workshops to understand and capture requirements effectively.
  7. Build and maintain constructive relationships with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  8. Ensure stakeholders have access to current data on team delivery and technical quality standards are met.
  9. Support the Delivery Manager to ensure projects meet their outcomes within budget.
  10. Be flexible, including willingness to work away from home if needed.

MINIMUM (ESSENTIAL) REQUIREMENTS

  • Effective communicator with strong negotiating skills.
  • Solid understanding and practical experience of agile software delivery.
  • Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Proven ability to manage, coach, and develop team members.
  • Experience facilitating workshops and discussions.
  • Ability to build effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience in a relevant technical environment.
  • Ability to maintain effective delivery during remote working periods.

DESIRABLE

  • Knowledge of technology, digital services, and trends.
  • Experience with user research, design, and data analytics.
  • Commercial awareness in client-supplier environments.
  • Understanding of planning and reporting methods in project delivery.
  • Scrum Master or similar Agile certification.
