Position

Teaching Assistant - SPMA 2P27 - Financing Sport

Compensation

Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator, and Lab Demonstrator positions are paid according to qualifications:

• Employees without a 4-year honours or 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate - $22.07/hr (effective September 1, 2024).
• Employees with a 4-year honours or 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate - $34.73/hr (effective September 1, 2024).
• Additional duties are compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate.

Duties

The duties include scheduled contact time with students, preparation of seminar materials, student consultation, grading, exam proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration as required, in accordance with Article 22 of the CUPE Local 4207, Unit 1, Collective Agreement.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be at least a fourth-year student enrolled in a Bachelor of Sport Management or equivalent; MA or higher preferred.
• Effective communication skills, punctuality, and ability to meet deadlines are required.
• Preferably, have taken the course with an 80% grade.
• Experience in marking assignments and providing student support is an asset.
