Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator, and Lab Demonstrator positions are paid according to the qualifications that the employee holds.
The nominal workload is 60 hours. Duties include facilitating small group discussions on major topics in political philosophy through analysis of films, literature, and texts; grading assignments and exams; providing feedback; and maintaining student records.
Responsibilities are in accordance with Article 22 of the CUPE Local 4207, Unit 1, Collective Agreement, including scheduled contact time and non-classroom activities such as preparation, grading, student consultation, and course administration.
Must be enrolled in or have completed a postgraduate degree in Political Science with emphasis on political theory. Strong essay writing, organizational skills, and prior experience as a teaching assistant are required.
