Position: Course Instructor for Introduction to Neurolinguistics (Fall D2)
Compensation

Positions include Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator, and Lab Demonstrator, paid according to qualifications:

  • Undergraduate rate: $22.07/hr for employees without a 4-year honours or 3-year pass degree (effective September 1, 2024).
  • Graduate rate: $34.73/hr for employees with a 4-year honours or 3-year pass degree (effective September 1, 2024).

Additional duties as a Teaching Assistant will be compensated at the appropriate rate.

Duties

The duties align with Article 22 of the CUPE Local 4207, Unit 1, Collective Agreement, including scheduled contact hours, preparation, student consultation, grading, exam proctoring, attending lectures, and course administration.

Qualifications
  • Minimum four-year BA completed or admission to 4th year with 80% major average.
  • Must have completed this course (or equivalent) with at least 80%.
  • Strong interpersonal skills supporting student needs and communication.
  • Excellent organizational skills, record-keeping, and proficiency with Excel.

Positions depend on course enrollment and budget approval.

Workload and Collective Agreement
  • Graduate students enrolled full-time can work up to 10 hours/week with prior Dean approval.
  • Undergraduates can accept up to 9 TA appointments per term minus enrolled courses.
  • Part-time graduate students and non-students must not exceed weekly hour limits per the Employment Standards Act.

Permission to exceed workload limits must be obtained prior to application.
