McGill University invites applications for Teaching Assistants for INDS 114: Digestion and Metabolism. You will assist first-year medical students in anatomy dissections, guiding abdominal dissection work in the lab and reinforcing safety rules.

You will also help supervise review time, assist with preparation, invigilation and grading of the lab exam. Required: strong knowledge of abdominal anatomy, demonstrated dissection skills, and excellent English communication.

Qualifications

• Must have dissection experience and demonstrate advanced dissection skills on topics relevant to the course description.
• Strong knowledge of abdominal anatomy, experience with abdominal dissection and good communication skills are essential.
• Effective communication skills in English are essential. Communication in French is an asset.

Teaching Assistants must demonstrate an excellent ability to teach human anatomy in the anatomy lab and effectively guide students in abdominal dissections. Teaching Assistants are responsible for reinforcing the laboratory rules and code of conduct in the lab, to oversee all safety precautions regarding use of all dissection tools. Teaching Assistants will also participate in the supervision and facilitation of anatomy review time (4 hours) as well as the preparation (2 hours), invigilation and grading (2 hours) of the anatomy lab exam.
