Title of Course

IENG 2P03 Electric and Electronic Circuits

Compensation

Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator and Lab Demonstrator positions are paid according to the qualifications that the employee holds.

· Employees who do NOT hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate - $22.07 per hour.(Rate effective September 1, 2024)

· Employees who hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate - $34.73 per hour.(Rate effective September 1, 2024)

· In cases where additional duties are required as part of a Teaching Assistant’s duties, these hours shall be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate.

Duties

The duties and responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant shall be in accordance with Article 22 of the CUPE Local 4207, Unit 1, Collective Agreement. These are made up of scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time (including preparation of seminar material, student consultation, marking or grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration as may be required.

Qualifications

· Applicants must possess strong expertise in electrical and electronic circuits, including circuit laws, analysis techniques, AC/DC behavior, and nonlinear components such as diodes, transistors, and operational amplifiers

· Familiarity with standard laboratory equipment is required, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, function generators, power supplies, and breadboards.

· Proficiency in circuit simulation tools such as LTspice, Multisim, PSpice, or equivalent software is essential.
