Compensation

Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator, and Lab Demonstrator positions are paid according to the qualifications that the employee holds.

  • Employees without a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate - $22.07 per hour (Rate effective September 1, 2024).
  • Employees with a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate - $34.73 per hour (Rate effective September 1, 2024).
  • Additional duties as a Teaching Assistant will be compensated at the appropriate rate.
Duties

The duties of the Teaching Assistant shall be in accordance with Article 22 of the CUPE Local 4207, Unit 1, Collective Agreement. Responsibilities include scheduled contact time with students, preparation of seminar material, student consultation, grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration as required.

Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree or college diploma in interactive media, computer science, or a related discipline;
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS and Javascript;
  • Familiarity with React is an asset;
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness.
