Compensation

Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator, and Lab Demonstrator positions are paid according to qualifications:

  • Employees without a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate - $22.07 per hour (effective September 1, 2024).
  • Employees with a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate - $34.73 per hour (effective September 1, 2024).
  • Additional duties as part of a Teaching Assistant’s responsibilities will be compensated at the appropriate rate.
Duties

The duties of the Teaching Assistant shall align with Article 22 of the CUPE Local 4207, Unit 1, Collective Agreement, including scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom activities such as seminar preparation, student consultation, grading, exam proctoring, attending lectures, office hours, and other course administration.

Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree or advanced diploma in games, interactive media, computer science, or related discipline.
  • Experience with Unity game engine and C# programming language.
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness.
