Position Details

Course: Resource and Environmental Geographies

Compensation: Paid according to qualifications:

  • Undergraduate rate ($22.04/hr) for employees without a 4-year honours or 3-year pass degree (effective Sept 1, 2024)
  • Graduate rate ($34.73/hr) for employees with a 4-year honours or 3-year pass degree (effective Sept 1, 2024)

Additional duties are compensated at the same rate.

Responsibilities

The duties include scheduled contact with students, preparation of seminar materials, student consultation, grading, exam proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other administrative tasks, in accordance with Article 22 of the CUPE Local 4207, Unit 1, Collective Agreement.

Qualifications
  • Enrolled in or completed a postgraduate or Honours Degree in Geography or equivalent, or be an Honours Program student with at least 13 credits in Geography.
  • Completed 4 full credits in Geography with an overall average of 75% or higher.
  • Final grade of 75% or higher in the course for which applying.
  • Successful undergraduate teaching or leadership experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

Note: Equivalency will be determined by the course instructor.
