This advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy in the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) DART 3Q92 (Winter) Seminar 2 or 3 Foundations in Performance Studies.

The course introduces the interdisciplinary field of performance studies, covering foundational texts, theories, and methodologies, examining performance across various cultural phenomena, from art and sports to political protests and public art.

Compensation:

Paid according to qualifications:

  • Undergraduate rate: $22.07/hr for those without a 4-year honours or 3-year pass degree.
  • Graduate rate: $34.73/hr for those with a 4-year honours or 3-year pass degree.
  • Additional duties compensated at the TA rate.

Duties:

In accordance with Article 22 of the CUPE Local 4207, Unit 1, Collective Agreement, duties include scheduled contact with students and non-classroom tasks like preparing seminar materials, student consultations, grading, exam proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and course administration.

Qualifications:

  1. MA or MFA in theatre and performance or a related discipline, or current enrollment in a relevant master’s program.
  2. Formal teaching training or successful teaching experience, with evidence such as course evaluations or recommendations.
  3. Excellent written and oral communication skills, demonstrated in the cover letter.
  4. Strong organizational skills, demonstrated in the cover letter.
  5. Commitment to anti-oppressive, decolonizing, anti-racist, or related approaches, with evidence like coursework, presentations, or professional work.
  6. Ability to use Brightspace, BrockDB, OASIS, or similar systems.
