Position Details
  • Title of Course: CRIM 2P62 - Sociology of Criminal Justice
  • Compensation: Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator, and Lab Demonstrator positions are paid according to qualifications:
    • Undergraduate rate ($22.07/hr) if no 4-year honours or 3-year pass degree.
    • Graduate rate ($34.73/hr) if holding a 4-year honours or 3-year pass degree.
    • Additional duties are compensated at the TA rate.
Duties

The duties include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom responsibilities such as seminar preparation, student consultation, grading, exam proctoring, attending lectures, office hours, and other course administration, in accordance with Article 22 of the CUPE Local 4207, Unit 1, Collective Agreement.

Qualifications
  • Master’s or Honours Degree in Sociology or equivalent, or enrolled in an Honours Program with 15+ credits completed and an 80% average or higher.
  • Final grade of 75% or higher in the course for which applying.
  • Demonstrated teaching competence (e.g., course evaluations).
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines, especially during busy periods.
