Vancouver Island North District, BC

Teacher Teaching On Call Position (TTOC)

Commencing: September 1, 2026

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • completion of a Bachelor of Education;
  • certification by or eligible to become BC certified by the BC Teacher Certification;
  • recent successful teaching experience;
  • strong organizational and classroom management skills with the ability and energy to motivate students and adjust instructional strategies accordingly;
  • the ability and desire to work closely with staff in a team oriented approach to teaching and learning;
  • strong interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills to communicate with students, staff and parents;
  • strong interest in innovation and inquiry;
  • strong formative assessment practices;
  • preferred experience with RTI (Response to Intervention) systems;
  • ability to integrate technology to enhance student learning;
  • strong classroom management skills; and
  • ability to embed local Indigenous culture and ways of knowing into teaching practices.

The starting annual salary for a full-time School Teacher position ranges from $71,425 to $119,497, with placement in the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
