A regional school district in Prince George is seeking BC Certified Teachers to work on a casual, on-call basis with flexible contract lengths. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor of Education, knowledge of the curriculum, and strong skills in creating inclusive learning environments. Position Description
Our District is seeking BC Certified Teachers Teaching on Call to be assigned to Limited Duration Contracts as TTOCs for the current school year. Start and end dates of these contracts are negotiable. The location and subject area of the assignment will vary daily. These positions can be broken into multiple FTEs to accommodate people wishing to commit to less than 5 days per week.
Applicants must be certified to teach in a Canadian province or territory or have completed a Bachelor of Education Program/Teaching certification program in Canada.
Applicants must be prepared to work on a casual on call basis in any school in the geographical area of Prince George which includes a radius of approximately 65 kms. A reliable vehicle/transportation is essential to this role.
Applicants with assessment and trauma-informed practice experience are preferred. Those with the necessary qualifications and strong references will be given preference. School District No.57 resides on the unceded ancestral lands of the Lheidli T’enneh First Nations, McLeod Lake Indian Band and the Simpcw First Nations.
Geographically we expand from Mackenzie, through Prince George, to McBride and Valemount. We serve 41 schools: 32 Elementary schools, 8 Secondary schools and 1 District Learning Support center for alternative and alternate learning opportunities.
We provide educational programs for approximately 15,000 students inclusive of early learning, after school art and sports programing, trades programs, and dual credit programs with our local post-secondary schools.
We support Lheidli T’enneh students, McLeod Lake students and Takla students living on reserve through our Local Education Agreements. With each Nation we co-construct the educational services provided to the students while attending a school within our school district.
