Teacher of BGE Numeracy - Fixed term until 26/06/2023

Portobello High School

Salary: £33,000 - £50,000

Hours: 35 per week

Portobello High School is a six-year comprehensive school located in the East of Edinburgh, with a student roll of over 1,000 young people, mainly from five associated primary schools: Brunstane, Duddingston, Parsons Green, Royal High, and Towerbank.

The school boasts excellent facilities used extensively by the community and offers a wide range of extracurricular activities, especially in arts and sports. We have strong links with parents and are committed to building partnerships with local businesses and the community.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a large, dedicated staff team in a comprehensive setting. The successful candidate will teach BGE classes and conduct small group interventions to support numeracy development.

This position involves regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the PVG Scheme. The successful candidate must join the PVG Scheme or undergo an update check. If the candidate has spent three or more months outside the UK in the last five years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of these checks.

Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
