Anticipated End Date: June 26, 2026

Assignment: Grade 5 Generalist, including Discipleship, PE, and other subjects as assigned

FTE: 1.0 FTE Probationary

Responsibilities:

• Establish clear objectives and outlines for courses, following Alberta Education curriculum guidelines, and communicate these to students. Prepare lessons and classroom materials, demonstrating evidence of preparation upon request.
• Use varied instructional approaches suitable for grade level and student needs. Plan activities that balance instruction, demonstration, and independent work, encouraging observation, questioning, and investigation. Assign lessons and correct homework.
• Observe and evaluate students' performance, behavior, social development, and health. Administer and grade assessments, maintaining accurate student records.
• Enforce rules for behavior and safety, following the guidance of the Principal and administrative policies.
• Meet with professionals, parents, and guardians to discuss student progress and needs. Collaborate with staff to develop and evaluate school programs. Attend professional development and staff meetings.
• Prepare students for future grades by encouraging exploration and perseverance. Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet diverse needs. Provide remedial support and assist students with special needs access to resources.
• Organize and supervise class projects, field trips, guest visits, and extracurricular activities. Use multimedia and technology to enhance learning. Supervise recreational activities and perform supervisory duties as assigned.
• Coordinate with support staff and assist in supervising and evaluating their performance.
• Perform additional tasks such as organizing materials and displaying student work as needed.

Experience & Qualifications:

• Alberta Teaching Certificate
• Experience in elementary curriculum delivery
• Current CRC including Vulnerable Sector check
