Applications Are Invited For The Position Of

Teacher at

Ecole Pine Grove Middle School

Position: Temporary, Full Time Grade 6 and 7 Social Studies and Grade 7 LA

Location: Ecole Pine Grove Middle School, Edson AB

Start Date: Duties to commence August 25, 2025 until June 30, 2025 or upon return of incumbent whichever occurs sooner.

Hours of Work: 1.0 FTE Monday-Friday

The competition will remain open until: June 13, 2025 at 12:00pm MST

Ecole Pine Grove Middle School is located in Edson, Alberta, within the Grande Yellowhead Public School Division. Ecole Pine Grove Middle School, serves around 330 students in grades 6-8.

Role And Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be a collaborative person with proficiency in the use of educational technology and have an understanding of assessment for learning. The responsibilities include:

  • Providing instruction to promote high quality student-centered learning.
  • Designing and preparing lessons based on curriculum and following a variety of methodology in teaching and instructing students, including lectures, demonstrations and discussions.
  • Facilitating inclusive educational practices to maximize educational opportunities for all students.
  • Reviewing and evaluating each student's performance, knowledge and skills and meeting all reporting and assessment deadlines.
  • Adhering to provincial legislation, board policy and division administrative procedures.
  • Developing constructive relationships with parents.
  • Modelling commitment to professional development.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Principal to support the effective operation of the school.
  • Additional comments: The teaching assignment will include Grade 6/7 Social Studies, Grade 7 LA and CTF Options.

Requirements

The successful candidate will:

  • Possess an Alberta Teaching Certificate or be eligible for one.
  • Have experience in following the Teaching Quality Standard (TQS) and infusing literacy across the curriculum.
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree of Education.
  • Additional experience teaching Social Studies will be considered an asset.

GYPSD is a participating School Division within the Northern Student Teacher Bursary.
