We are seeking a Taxonomist with IT subject matter expertise to develop and manage structured taxonomies, ontologies, and metadata frameworks within PoolParty (or Mondeca, Semaphore). This role will be responsible for optimizing taxonomic structures to enhance content discoverability and classification for AI-driven knowledge management systems. The ideal candidate will ensure taxonomy consistency, usability, and integration within an enterprise IT environment (networking, software, hardware, firmware).

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain taxonomies, ontologies, and metadata schemas in PoolParty to support semantic search and AI-driven classification.
• Implement taxonomy governance frameworks, ensuring standardization, consistency, and alignment within PoolParty Semantic Suite.
• Collaborate with the knowledge management team to enhance semantic structures and optimize user experience.
• Manage taxonomy lifecycle, including concept creation, hierarchy structuring, and relationship mapping, while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Analyze, extract, and normalize metadata from unstructured IT content, ensuring proper tagging and classification within PoolParty Semantic Suite.
• Ensure adherence to records management, content governance, and digital archiving standards for interoperability and compliance.
• Track and prioritize taxonomy-related tasks, deliverables, and project timelines to support evolving business needs.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree in Information Science, Library Science, or Computer Science is a plus.
• Proficiency with PoolParty or other ontology and taxonomy management tools (e.g., Mondeca, Semaphore) is required.
• Strong knowledge of metadata standards, semantic web technologies (RDF, SKOS, OWL for example), and linked data principles.
• Familiarity with IT concepts, data lakes, content management platforms, and AI-driven classification systems.
• Proficiency in SPARQL is a plus.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional IT and engineering teams to implement taxonomy solutions.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaboration across multiple time zones may be required.
