Job description

The opportunity

As a Tax Staff, you will be part of our Global Compliance and Reporting Group. Your key responsibilities

Your role as a Tax Staff offers a blend of corporate tax work with structured and virtual learning. Our curriculum aims to build your career in Canadian Corporate tax, including experience in tax compliance, tax accrual reviews, tax provisions, and tax planning. You will work on key client issues in domestic corporate income taxation, focusing on implementing tax strategies aligned with clients' business objectives.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of increasingly complex tax concepts.
  • Discuss moderately complex tax issues with the engagement team and client management.
  • Stay informed of current tax developments and apply tax knowledge effectively to client situations. Analyze information thoroughly and accurately.
  • Develop practical and effective approaches to clients' tax situations and draw appropriate conclusions.
  • Prepare corporate tax returns.
  • Audit tax provisions.
  • Share tax planning ideas with colleagues.
  • Participate in and contribute to team goals.
  • Assist in developing recommendations and implementation plans, and support quality decision-making in complex areas.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • A bachelor's degree, preferably in accounting, finance, or a related field; or a diploma in accounting with at least 2 years of relevant tax/accounting experience; or equivalent business or industry experience.
  • A passionate interest in developing Canadian income tax knowledge.
  • Exceptional proficiency in PC software, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent managerial, organizational, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • The ability to manage time effectively within budget and collaborate with team members to ensure timely delivery of exceptional client service.

Ideally, you’ll also have
