Over the past five years, we’ve cultivated a devoted customer base of over 1,000 corporate and accounting firms across North America.

LumiQ is proud to be a 2024 Deloitte Fast 50 winner. We’re creating innovative proprietary content, executing our go-to-market strategy, and leading industry disruption. Recently, we secured a strategic investment from Vertu Capital to fuel global expansion and continue our growth trajectory.

We are also a certified Great Place to Work! We value transparency, ownership, innovation, and empathy. If you’re ready to make a real impact and help transform professional education, we’d love to hear from you!

We are seeking a Tax Producer to help us revolutionize the professional education industry by creating top-tier CPD content.

This role offers a unique opportunity to leverage your accounting designation creatively, provide value to the CPA community, and be part of a fast-growing company.

The position combines education, content creation, and accounting expertise, offering a chance to expand your professional network and brand within the CPA community.

Reporting to the Manager of Technical Education, the Tax Producer will develop Canadian and U.S. tax content, identify suitable guests, conduct research, and ensure engaging, educational podcasts. You will learn podcast production from start to finish—no prior experience necessary!

Who You Are :

  • You hold a recognized accounting designation (CPA, CA, etc.)
  • You have 3-5 years of tax experience in Canada or the U.S., preferably in public accounting, covering areas like C corps, flow-throughs, individual, estate, trust, or gift taxation
  • You are passionate about explaining tax topics clearly and simply. You can research and learn quickly if needed, synthesizing guest expertise into accurate, interesting content
  • You are a critical thinker, able to decide which topics to cover and how to present them effectively
  • You excel at collaboration and prioritization, managing multiple stakeholders and schedules, working closely with hosts to produce episodes
  • You are organized and detail-oriented, maintaining processes and ensuring content accuracy while keeping it engaging and digestible
  • You are proactive, anticipating issues and suggesting improvements without waiting for direction

If your experience aligns closely, we still want to meet you!

What You'll Be Responsible For :

  • Wearing many hats as part of a startup, primarily focusing on tax content creation and learning development for Canadian and U.S. markets
  • As you grow in the role, your responsibilities will expand. Initially, your main duties include:
  • Develop Content :

  • Research and pitch tax topics for episodes
  • Identify, schedule, prepare, and coordinate guests, with support from the Production Coordinator
  • Create interview prep materials, including research and questions
  • Support live interviews by tracking time, asking follow-up questions, fact-checking, and monitoring audio quality
  • Eventually, host your own episodes (training provided!) and become comfortable on mic
  • Review raw audio, edit for content, and ensure clarity and engagement
  • Write episode descriptions, quiz questions, speaker bios, glossary terms, and visual aids

This role requires openness to new methods, experimentation, collaboration, and feedback, as we scale rapidly.

Please note, this is a flexible hybrid role based in Toronto, Canada, requiring in-office presence twice a week, with increased in-office time during onboarding and training.

Benefits and Perks :

  • Health benefits after 3 months, including a health spending account and Employee Assistance Program
  • Hybrid work style with office amenities and remote work options
  • Monthly social events (e.g., sports, parties, outings)
  • Flexible scheduling for personal needs
  • Nomad policy: work remotely from anywhere for 4 weeks per year
  • Access to diverse podcasts on soft skills, leadership, and more
  • LumiQ Clubs: join or create interest groups
