Job description

Reporting to the VP Tax, the Tax Manager will be responsible for managing and coordinating tax compliance and tax provision for global and Canadian subsidiaries.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Prepare or review of Canadian federal and provincial income tax returns ensuring timely filing of tax forms and elections.
  • Prepare, review and/or manage Australian and Hong Kong corporate income tax return submissions and disclosures.
  • Prepare, review and/or manage quarterly and annual global tax provision calculations, tax balance sheet maintenance and financial statement disclosures.
  • Assemble and prepare the necessary documentation to support annual transfer pricing studies and documentation.
  • Support the management of tax audits and assessments by performing technical analysis and gathering documentation throughout the audit process.
  • Participate in special projects/perform technical research as assigned by management.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Execution of a variety of corporate and partnership tax processes including planning, compliance, provision and controversy matters.
  • Enhance technical skills by remaining up-to-date on trends, new legislative developments and tax authority decisions, and apply them to relevant complex situations.
  • Positive and cooperative attitude and maintaining the confidential and proprietary nature of the company's information and related work products.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Minimum of 4 years of Canadian corporate tax experience.
  • An accounting designation or other related experience or certification relevant to an area of specialization.
  • At a minimum, completion of level 2 of CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course.
  • A commitment to learning in a tax technology environment.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines.
  • Process oriented with excellent documentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
