Qualifications

EY is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager for our Business Tax Advisory team. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing and managing client engagements, working closely with other team members on tax planning work, and providing support and mentoring for the professional development of staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute and assist with the management of client engagements.
  • Work closely with other team members on clients’ matters and other initiatives.
  • Assist with the preparation of tax memoranda, reports, and conduct and present tax research.
  • Support the team in advising on planning opportunities, tax minimization strategies, and compliance issues for our clients.
  • Review the work of junior staff for accuracy and completeness.
  • Become part of the tax engagement team in servicing recurring clients’ accounts.
  • Provide ongoing support and mentoring for the professional development of staff.

Required Qualifications:

  • Highly motivated and resourceful individual with a desire for growth, learning and a key team player.
  • Excellent people management and communication skills.
  • This role involves interaction with clients and colleagues operating nationally. Bilingualism in both French and English is therefore an asset.
  • Dedication and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to research and write utilizing relevant tax tools. Excel is an asset.
  • Ability to manage multiple demands and priorities with autonomy.
  • Excellent client service skills with strong business acumen.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Minimum 4 years specializing in Tax.
  • Professional Accounting Designation or Bar accreditation.
  • Completion of the In-depth Tax Course is an asset.
