PKF Antares is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our Calgary tax practice. In this client-facing leadership role, you will manage Canadian corporate and private enterprise tax engagements, provide practical planning advice on cross-border and reorganization engagements, and help develop the firm's growing tax team. You will work closely with partners and clients across a range of industries, balancing technical excellence with commercial judgment and responsive service.

Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of Canadian corporate and owner-managed clients, overseeing engagements from planning through completion.
- Review complex T2, T1, T3, partnership and information returns, supporting schedules, elections and tax provisions.
- Lead tax planning and advisory assignments involving corporate reorganizations, remuneration strategies, succession and estate planning, acquisitions, dispositions and cross-border considerations.
- Research complex tax matters and prepare or review technical memoranda and clear, practical recommendations.
- Represent and support clients in CRA reviews, audits, notices of objection, voluntary disclosures and other correspondence.
- Manage engagement scope, staffing, budgets, timelines, billing and realization while identifying and mitigating technical and commercial risks.
- Build trusted client relationships, identify additional service opportunities and contribute to proposals and practice-development initiatives.
- Coach and develop team members through technical guidance, timely feedback, performance support and quality review.
- Improve tax workflows through effective use of technology, standardized documentation and continuous process improvement.
Qualifications
- Canadian CPA designation.
- Completion of, or substantial progress toward, the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Program will be an asset.
- Five to seven years of progressive Canadian tax experience, including significant experience in a public accounting firm.
- Demonstrated experience reviewing tax work and supervising, coaching or mentoring professional staff.
- Strong technical knowledge of Canadian corporate and personal income tax; experience with private enterprises, trusts, reorganizations, estate planning or cross-border matters is an asset.
- Proven ability to manage multiple engagements, competing deadlines, budgets and client expectations.
- Excellent research, analytical, written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to advise clients and present recommendations.
- Strong professional judgment, ethics, confidentiality and commitment to high-quality client service.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
Technology & Tools
- Experience with Profile, CaseWare, QuickBooks or comparable tax and accounting platforms.
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Comfort adopting automation, analytics and AI-enabled tools responsibly while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality and professional review.
