The ideal candidate will hold a CPA certification and demonstrate strong project management skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively with teams.

Qualifications

  • Designated accountant, preferably a qualified CPA.
  • Strong knowledge of CRA regulations and compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects with multiple priorities.

  • Complete the preparation of Canadian corporate tax returns and SR&ED filings.
  • Ensure on-time submission of Canadian and US government remittances.
  • Serve as the main contact for tax compliance audits.

Job description

  • Complete the preparation of the Company’s Canadian corporate tax returns, including leading the preparation and review of annual SR&ED filings.
  • Preparation of calculations and working paper schedules in supporting the tax returns.
  • Assist in the filing of the Company’s US corporate tax returns.
  • Ensure Canadian and US government remittances, including sales taxes, corporate taxes are submitted on time.
  • Maintain access and compliance with financial portals and systems for Canadian and US tax filings and regulatory submissions.
  • Serve as the point of contact for all tax compliance audits.
  • Assist accounting team in preparation of financial statement tax provisions and disclosures.
  • Research new tax trends and regulations.
  • Liaison with external accounting firm(s) and working closely in all areas with the executive team.
  • Assistance in day-to-day operations within the accounting department
  • Other related duties, including special projects, as assigned by management
