As an Accounting Technician in our Tax team, you will assist with tax engagements, prepare returns and support clients through compliance and reporting. This role emphasizes collaboration with managers and clients, and requires a post-secondary accounting credential, strong accuracy, and willingness to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree or certificate in accounting or another relevant field.
• Experience in accounting, customer service and/or client service environment preferred.
• Experience in financial statement analysis and preparation of tax returns asset.
• Working knowledge of the Canadian Income Tax Act.
• Experience working with accounting and tax software asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist in completing tax engagements by computing taxes owed and preparing returns.
• Set up files for new clients and newly incorporated businesses.
• Prepare journal entries and provide bookkeeping services.
• Review articles of incorporation, purchase agreements and amalgamation agreements.
• Identify issues and discrepancies, investigate and discuss resolutions with managers or engagement partners.
