A staffing agency in Toronto is looking for a mid-senior level Tax Analyst to support Canadian income tax compliance and filings. The ideal candidate will have a CPA designation and at least 2 years of corporate tax experience. Responsibilities include coordinating tax filings for multiple entities, preparing year-end workpapers, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. This is a full-time contract position with a pay range of CA$110,000.00 - CA$125,000.00 per year.

Base pay range:

CA$110,000.00 / yr - CA$125,000.00 / yr

Contract details: 3-6 months contract with potential transition to permanent employment at the end of the contract.

Job Overview :

Reporting to the Tax Manager, the Tax Analyst will support the company’s Canadian income tax filings and compliance, related to acquisition strategies.

Responsibilities and Duties :

  • Support the completion of Canadian tax filings for multiple legal entities.
  • Collaborate with internal management and external consultants to support tax rollover and amalgamation filings for practice acquisitions.
  • Prepare year-end tax workpapers and ensure timely corporate income, indirect, and other tax filings and remittances.
  • Coordinate with the internal accounting department to ensure consistency in accounting for taxes and intercompany arrangements.
  • Support and participate in final year tax return projects and work with Legal to close out accounts for acquired entities.
  • Respond to tax-related inquiries, including emails.

Planning Activities :

  • Participate in ad hoc tax projects as assigned by CFO & Tax Manager.

Education, Credentials, Qualifications :

  • CPA designation.
  • Completion of CICA In-Depth tax courses; knowledge of indirect taxes is an asset.

Required Skills & Abilities :

  • At least 2 years of experience in corporate income tax, preferably within a multinational corporation or professional services firm.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proactive and flexible to meet deadlines.
