The Blueprint

The Tax Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of various tax returns, including corporate, partnership, trust, and personal income tax returns. They are involved in the preparation of information returns, such as foreign reporting forms, T4 / T5 / NR4’s, and other necessary filings. A crucial aspect of their role involves ensuring compliance with both federal and provincial tax regulations. The Tax Analyst will also actively participate in ad hoc tax-related projects, leveraging their expertise to support the organization's financial success.

A Glimpse into your Daily Activities

  • Prepare corporate, partnership, trust, and personal income tax returns.
  • Prepare information returns including foreign reporting forms, T4 / T5 / NR4’s and other tax filings as required.
  • Ensure timely and accurate compliance with all federal and provincial tax regulations.
  • Ensure tax assessments and notices of reassessment are reviewed and where applicable, responded to in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Assist with drafting responses to inquiries from tax authorities and preparing supporting documentation as required.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects as assigned including research of various tax topics, tax modeling and calculation of tax attributes.
  • Liaise with other departments to obtain information needed to prepare tax returns, respond to tax audits or other ad hoc projects as they arise.
  • Provide tax technical assistance to other departments as they arise.
  • Prepare election forms arising from operations or from corporate reorganizations.
  • Stay up to date on tax legislation changes and their impact on the organization.

  • University degree majoring in business, accounting, or a related field.
  • Chartered Professional Accountant Public (CPA)
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ of corporate income tax experience
