The Tax Manager will be responsible to oversee all Canadian direct tax reporting, tax modeling, tax compliance, and tax audits. The Tax Manager will also assist with tax planning, due diligence, tax research and collaborate on indirect tax matters, as needed.

- Play an important leadership role in developing, implementing and maintaining the company's legislative and regulatory compliance management framework and programs.
- Manage the quarter end and year-end tax processes including Corporate income tax filings, liaising with the company’s independent tax auditors and responding to year-end schedules requests.
- Prepare tax provisions on a quarterly and annual basis.
- Manage and respond to inquiries for federal and provincial income tax audit and at times, assist with commodity tax audits.
- Provide projected income tax provisions tax expense for annual budgeting process.
- Provide advice on tax applications on specific business transactions.
- Assist with monitoring tax developments and provide guidance as to the potential impact on People Corporation and its business.
- Assist with tax due diligence, structuring of acquisitions/dispositions and tax integration matters.
- Investigate and recommend tax planning opportunities.
- Provide general tax advice and expertise as required.
- Assist with the monitoring of Sales Tax accounts.
- Assist with collaboration, standardization and risk mitigation within the tax function.
- Assist with standardization and process optimization efforts within the company.
- Assist with the establishment and implementation of internal controls, policies and procedures and ensure compliance across the organization.

Preferred Experience
- 5-10 years of progressive and relevant tax experience, preferably in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Recognized professional accounting designation is required.
- Hands on approach to the function.

- Previous experience with multiple legal entity and multi-divisional corporate structures.
- Proficiency in the use of tax preparation software.
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
- Acquisition and due diligence experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Detail oriented and highly organized.
- Solid understanding of IFRS and internal control frameworks.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
Salary: $90,000 - $100,000
