Qualifications

• Proficiency in tattoo work, including design, line work, shading and color.

• Knowledge or experience in tattoo removal methods or willingness to learn.
• Solid art skills: drawing, composition, color theory, style development.
• Experience or training in piercing; safe, sanitary procedures is a plus.
• Portfolio showing a range of tattoo and art styles for a luxury studio.
• Health, safety, and infection-control standards; appropriate licenses/certifications.
• Ability to work full time on site, manage bookings, collaborate with artists.
• Professional, reliable, and respectful behavior toward clients and staff.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Tattoo Artist role based at 808 Studios in Halifax, NS. The Tattoo Artist will consult with clients to understand their ideas, design custom artwork, and create tattoos that align with the studio's luxury standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing workstations, maintaining strict hygiene and safety protocols, executing tattoos using professional equipment, and providing aftercare guidance. The role involves collaborating with the studio team, managing appointment schedules, and offering attentive customer service to ensure a welcoming and inclusive client experience. Depending on experience, the Tattoo Artist may also support piercing or tattoo removal services and contribute to studio promotion through portfolios and social media.
