Position Overview:

We’re hiring a Tapas Deck Chef de Partie to join our world-class team at Sonora Resort, a luxury all-inclusive Relais & Châteaux property, located in the pristine wilderness of British Columbia. Situated in the Discovery Islands, Sonora Resort is accessible by water taxi from Campbell River on Vancouver Island. This is a seasonal, on-site position with shift work, starting early June.

Work Environment:

Position Summary:

The Tapas Deck Chef de Partie is passionate about delivering exquisite dishes that enhance our world-class dining experience. Responsibilities include preparing a separate menu from an external location, maintaining a clean and organized station, and cooking during lunch and between lunch and dinner services, coordinating with the Sous Chef.

Job Duties:
  1. Demonstrate service behaviors aligned with Relais & Châteaux standards.
  2. Receive, clean, and store incoming products per standards.
  3. Complete all cleaning tasks to standard.
  4. Maintain workstations according to standards.
  5. Prepare and execute all tapas items for service or banquets.
  6. Create daily features.
  7. Stay knowledgeable of all menu items and updates.
  8. Assist in cleaning the kitchen after service.
  9. Maintain effective communication with colleagues and departments.
Qualifications:
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Fluent in English; second language is an asset.
  • First Aid certification is an asset.
  • Current Food Safe Certificate.
  • Culinary Arts Level 1, 2, or 3.
  • Red Seal certification is an asset.
